Watching Television


(1) 小王!今天晚上咱们干什么?

Xiǎo Wáng! Jīntiān wǎnshang zánmen gàn shénme?

(Young) Wang! What shall we do this evening?

(2) 咱们看戏吧!你知道我对戏剧特别感兴趣。

Zánmen kàn xì ba! Nǐ zhīdao wǒ duì xìjù tèbié gǎn xìngqù.

Let’s go to the theater! You know I’m specially interested in the theater.

(3) 好!这几天有京剧,川剧和木偶戏。

Hǎo! Zhèi-jǐ tiān yǒu Jīnjù, Chuānjù hé mù’ǒu xì.

Okay! At teh moment there are performances of Peking Opera and Sichuan Opera, and there is also a puppet show.

(4) 有相声吗?

Yǒu xiàngshēng ma?

Are there any stand-up comics on?

(5) 等一会儿,我打电话问问老周。

Děng yīhuǐr, wǒ dǎ diànhuà wèn-wèn Lǎo Zhōu.

Wait a minute, I’ll give Zhou a ring and ask him.

(6) 看报不是更方便吗?

Kàn bào bú shì gèng fāngbian ma?

Wouldn’t it be simpler to look in the paper?

Hǎo jí le! Duì! Shì Hòu Bǎolín hé Guō Qǐrú yǎn de!

Great! That’s right! Hou Baolin and Guo Qiru are on!

(14) 好啊!那,咱们就决定在家里看电视吧!

Hǎo a! Nà, zánmen jiù juédìng zài jiālǐ kàn diànshì ba!

Good! In that case, we’ll stay at home and watch television then!
